Do you know someone who is involved in the regional energy sector?

Have they made a tangible contribution to achieving the sustainable development goals, especially those related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access?

Were their actions consistent with the Region’s vision for sustainable energy development?

Then there’s a chance they could win the CARICOM Energy Personality Award being introduced this year as part of CARICOM Energy Month (CEM) activities.

CEM is observed in November. The Month of activities, aimed at highlighting the energy thrust of the Community and its successes, was launched on Monday, 30 October, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

The award is intended to honor an individual who has been actively engaged in advancing the sustainable energy agenda on the basis of  their energy achievements on the national/regional stage; and impact of the achievements on the citizens of the Region.

Nominees must be involved in or have made contributions by way of a project or initiative towards achieving the sustainable development goals; in particular those related to energy in any of the following categories:

  • Renewable Energy
  • Energy Efficiency and Conservation
  • Rural Electrification
  • Energy Access

The call for nominations ends on 15 December, 2017, and the winner will be announced in March, 2018.
